Rural Roots Health Initiative is a student-led nonprofit helping rural Oklahoma students feel clean, confident, and ready to learn. We provide free hygiene closets, health flyers, and local wellness days through trusted partnerships with schools and health professionals.
Why Rural Students?
Many small rural schools are overlooked by large health programs. Students often face barriers like limited access to stores, clinics, or even private bathrooms at home. These small gaps can have a big impact on attendance, mental health, and self-esteem.
Rural Roots focuses on simple solutions that make a real difference — right where students are.
What Makes Us Different
We are student-led and community-driven. We listen first — through needs assessments, student surveys, and teacher interviews — so every closet, flyer, or wellness event is truly useful, not just charity for show.
Every supply, dollar, and volunteer hour stays local to support our neighbors and classmates.
